GYMNASTICS WORKSHOPS
Gymnastics training improves every physical pursuit because of the intention and body-awareness that it demands. I blend my background as a traditional gymnastics coach, a CrossFit Regionals athlete, and a CrossFit coach to create an accessible approach to gymnastics movement for beginners and advanced athletes alike. Whether you want to tumble and flip, get stronger, learn new skills, or just become a more proficient mover, these workshops are for you.
design the optimal workshop for your group
All sessions begin with the gymnastics building blocks—the positions, mobility, and stability that great movement requires. Then we’ll outline your perfect session based on:
Traditional gymnastics elements
freestanding handstand
rings: muscle-up, dip, front roll, back roll, uprise
advanced skills: press handstand, planche, levers, and other isometric strength skills
tumbling: cartwheel, dive roll, back-extension roll, and standing back tuck (depending on the group skill level and available equipment)
CrossFit gymnastics
kipping for pull-ups, ring muscle-ups, bar muscle-ups, and handstand push-ups
handstand walks
pistols
a little bit of everything
Half and full-day sessions allow us build a foundation on the traditional strength elements and their carry-over to CrossFit-style gymnastics skills
STRUCTURE AND PHILOSOPHY
FUN FIRST
Exploration and play provide the deepest forms of learning. While I provide structure, drills, and progressions these workshops feel more like recess than class time.
feel it
Queues and drills designed to create the proper sensations for the movement. Hearing it is great, seeing it is better, but it really sticks when you feel it.
PARTNER COACHING
Observing, coaching, and correcting each other drives home the details.
